Jillian Michaels Body Revolution After a C-Section

I have had several people ask me about doing Jillian Michaels Body Revolution after having a C-Section. I am not a doctor, so let me just be clear that you should always consult your doctor before starting any exercise program. Each person is different and each person’s body and c-section is different.

However, I have had three c-sections. I didn’t start Body Revolution until after my second one though. I started about 9 months post-baby, so my body had lots of time to heal and I had long since been cleared for any and all exercise. I had no problems whatsoever with any of the moves or any sort of scar-related pain during the exercises.

And now I am doing Body Revolution again after my third c-section. I will say this. After my 6 week checkup post-baby, my doctor cleared me for all exercises, so I started doing body revolution. It was painful. I still felt kind of like I was ripping at my incision site. So I decided it was just a little too soon for Body Revolution.

Now my baby is 14 months old and as I do the exercises, all feels fine. I don’t have any surgery related pains. If I had another c-section, I would probably wait a good three months before beginning Jillian Michaels Body Revolution. That’s just me. You definitely don’t want to start too soon, but obviously only you and your doctor will make that decision. Several people had asked so I thought I would give my insight on the topic.

This type of postpregnancy belly belt really helped me after my c-section. It isn’t the exact one I had, as my hospital gave me one and I don’t know the brand, but it was like this:

Oh it held your tummy so nicely. Without it I kind of felt like my insides were going to fall out right after the surgery. Yes. Definitely a must have after a c-section.

Halfway Through Week 3 of Body Revolution

I am halfway through week 3 of Body Revolution. It’s so funny how you forget things when you haven’t done them in a while. Workouts 3 and 4 are so so tough. I wonder if by next week I will still think they are so tough? I guess we will see.

Today I really did not want to work out. It was pretty much the last thing I wanted to do. But I pushed through and did it any way. I’ve been watching The Biggest Loser, season 16 on Hulu and it is extremely motivating to me. I know that losing that much weight that fast is unhealthy, and they really go to the extremes to lose weight. But the contestants are so big and out of shape at the beginning and they work SO HARD! What is MY excuse? Seriously. They work hard. I can do this.

What Is So Great About Jillian Michaels Body Revolution?

What is so great about Jillian Michaels Body Revolution? Answer: Everything! I cannot fully express my love, my sweet, unending love for Body Revolution. It is the only program I’ve ever been able to stick with. It is the only program that I immediately not only feel results but also see results almost instantly.

I’ll be done with week 2 tomorrow but already my clothes are looking different on me. They are fitting a little looser and I’m starting to see myself slimming out. My husband can notice too, but it’s not likely that others are able to tell yet.

Body Revolution is perfect for those of us with a lot of weight to lose (more than 50 pounds). It is an extreme weight loss program! Even if you are extremely out of shape, you will be able to do this! You got this! Like it’s no problem! 😉 Jillian always tells you how you can modify the exercises to work for you. Every single time she gives you a modification. She also shows you how to make it even harder, so there are really no excuses.

I’ll give myself as an example. In workouts 1 and 2, at first most of the exercises seem pretty hard. Whoa. Muscles are working… sweat is coming out… this is all not normal for me. Right? But by the second time you do those workouts, they are a little easier. By the third time, I’m thinking to myself, “hey it’s not so bad!” Then the very last time you do the exercises (because you only do each workout 4 times, which I’ll talk about in a bit), I think “Wow! I did them all and it was so much easier!”

But THEN! You move on to NEW workouts and it starts ALL over again. The first time you think “What in the world, Jillian?! This is SO HARD!” Then it gets easier. Stick with it. I promise you that it will get easier.

Okay, so doing each workout only 4 times. That. Is. AWESOME! Why? Because you just don’t get bored! I tried doing the 30 Day Shred several times, but never stuck with it because you do the SAME exercise for like 10 days. It just gets old. With Body Revolution, you never do the same workout back to back. You have at least two days after you do a workout before you do the same one again. I love that. I love it. I don’t get bored.

I know this works. I don’t understand why with Body Revolution I see the changes happen so quickly. Why not with other programs? I’ve stuck with them for two weeks or more. I like to think it is because Body Revolution is magical! Okay, I know it’s not. But it kinda is.

I’m super excited to begin the second half of Phase 1 on Monday! Is anyone doing Body Revolution with me? Leave a comment and let me know which week you’re on!

My 30th Birthday

Today I turned 30. Wow. I can’t believe it. Well I had a pretty good day. It was a cardio day. But I decided to look around on YouTube for some good cardio videos. I found a great channel and did a few cardio workouts. My eating was great… until the cake. I had a bit too much cake. But I feel okay about it because I did so much exercise today and tomorrow there will not be cake. Moderation, right?

I’m halfway through week 2 of Body Revolution. I know it’s silly but I already feel my body changing. It feels stronger and leaner, and I know it’s really just in my mind right now, but it’s still motivating. I lost 4 pounds since last week! I’m very excited about that.  I can’t wait to see what kind of loss I’ll see this week!

Body Revolution- Round 3, Week 2!

I have week one of Body Revolution in the books, folks! Yes! I’m so excited! I started week 2 today. I will weigh in tomorrow morning. My husband is also starting Body Revolution and started week 1 today. He did it with me during my first time with Body Revolution but never quite finished it. He had awesome results though.

So, I’m a stay at home mom and I homeschool my oldest, who is in Kindergarten. Other than my five year old, I have a three year old, and my almost 14 month old. Life is pretty hectic. I find it hard to find time to work out. I have such crazy respect and love for you mommas that work outside of the home and still manage to take care of the house and cook and still find time to workout. I really do. I really struggle with finding the time to get workouts in even though I’m home for a good chunk of the day.

What I did last week was set my kids up with some toys in the living room and did my workouts in there with them while they played. It worked out alright. The baby kept trying to crawl over me and under me so there were some interruptions. Over the weekend my husband and I really babyproofed our playroom and living room. Our baby just started crawling (actually, he doesn’t crawl, he scoots on his tushy for the most part) last month so we hadn’t gotten too much babyproofing done yet. Well now I’ll be able to let them all three play in the play room with the baby gate up. I can see them from the living room and still talk to them and they will be able to play safely while I get my workout in. And if for some reason that doesn’t work I can always workout when my husband gets home from work. Or before he goes to work when he’s on night shift.

It will all work out. Cause I need to work out. Gotta work out that work out.

Does anyone meal prep? I’ve been thinking a lot about that lately. I know it would help keep me and my husband on track. When it’s payday we are going to buy all the containers we will need to start. I hate little containers. I hate them. But they seem like a necessity for meal prepping, huh? I’ve seen some great ideas for meals on pinterest. I found Diary of a Fit Mommy on Pinterest and have been obsessed reading through her meal prep ideas.

Do you prep? What are your favorite healthy prepping meals? I’ve been trying to find super cheap ones. Like… super cheap. Our grocery bill is high enough as it is with three little ones to feed, I just don’t want meal prepping to make that bill go up. I feel like if we were smart, the bill could actually go down? Possible? We’ll see.

Jillian Michaels Body Shred!

What?! How have I not heard that there is a new Jillian Michaels program out there? I’m so stinking excited. I want to do this! Yes! I will make this my “reward” if I can finish Body Revolution. If I finish Body Revolution I will buy myself Jillian Michael’s Body Shred! Has anyone tried it yet? What did you think? How does it compare to Body Revolution?

New Years Resolutions- Getting Healthy

Hello, all! It’s a brand new year. I don’t know what it is about new beginnings, but they are wonderful. I always feel inspired on a Monday, or the first day of a new month, or most of all, a brand new year. I know it’s stupid, but it’s totally a psychological thing. The brand new beginnings give me hope. I did not reach my goals at all last year. In fact, I didn’t lose any weight at all last year. I wanted to be completely at my goal by my 30th birthday (which by the way is next week…). Well now I am very far away from those goals. But here I am at a brand new year. How awesome is that? I didn’t get to my goal by my 30th birthday, but I can make a new goal. In my 30th year, I will love my body and vow to treat it better and to become more healthy. I never really stick to new year’s resolutions, and I hear so many people say that they are stupid because, well, people rarely stick to them. Well, I like them. I will never stop making them. This year, I decided I was going to give up soda, chocolate, alcohol, and meat. And to get healthy. I probably will stumble and consume some of that stuff. But I think the point is that I’m going to try my hardest not to, and less of those things is better.

So here we are at January 9th. I have not had any of those things except a small glass of soda the other day when I was very sick with a migraine and throwing up. My husband thought a small glass might help my tummy settle. It did, but then I didn’t drink any more. I felt so in control. It was awesome. I have also started the most wonderfully awesome workout program in the world. I know you want to know what it is… it is… Jillian Michaels Body Revolution Haha! I don’t know why I even bother trying to start any other programs. I always try to do something different but can never stick to them. Body Revolution is the only workout program I have ever been able to stick to and actually finish. What is it about Body Revolution that is so wonderful? I don’t know exactly. It’s short, Jillian is so motivating, it’s fun, it is something different every day. I am almost done with the first week. I started this past Monday. I feel so happy about my choice to restart Body Revolution. ChaLean Extreme and TurboFire are fun and I really hope to actually finish them one day. I just know that I had such great success with Body Revolution the last two times I did it. I look forward to it every day and it’s easy (easier) to do with my three children running around. Which by the way I have had to do. Yep. I was on the floor doing bicycle crunches with my one year old trying to crawl over my tummy. That was fun. Oh well, I gotta do what I gotta do.

I started the New Year at 190 pounds. By the beginning of Body Revolution I was down to 185. So 185 will be my official starting weight. I lost 23 pounds my first round, so I will see how much I lose this time. My ultimate goal is 135, so I have 50 pounds to go. Let’s do this! Let me know what your goals are. Let’s do this together.
