Changing my blog’s name

I decided to change my blog’s name. After I’m done with Body Revolution, I want to keep blogging my weight loss progress, so it seemed only fitting to get rid of the “body revolution” in the title. This name sounds good to me. Cardio and Kids. Basically sums up my life lately. Kids. They are a workout by themselves! I swear I burn so many calories chasing them around all day.

Well today was not a good eating day for me. Don’t worry. I didn’t OVER eat. I UNDER ate. I was so busy. I had to cut the grass today but it was such a lovely break from the kiddos I did it all by myself. Usually my husband and I split the yard in half. We fight over it. We both want that break from the kids. Ha! But today I was selfish and wanted it all for myself. It turned out to be fun, but maybe a bit of a mistake? Well it just so happened to be the hottest day of the year so far. I think the heat index was 111? So I had to keep stopping and cooling off and getting water. But according to my HRM, I burned 1500 calories. Holy cow. It took me a whopping 2 hours and 44 minutes to finish the yard.

I used yesterday as a rest day because my head hurt so badly but I got right back with Jillian tonight. I did workout 11 again. I only have to do that workout TWO MORE TIMES! I am so close to the finish line. My husband says my body has really changed and that I will really be amazed when I see my after picture compared to my before picture. I hope so. I really will be brave and post my before picture.

So between my cutting the grass and Jillian Michaels workout, I burned 1882 calories. I did not eat them all back. And in fact, I was still UNDER my calories without even adding the exercise calories. Oh well. I didn’t do that intentionally, but at least I feel a little better about overeating last weekend at the wedding. I figure today just balances out that bad day.

So last week we went to the zoo. We have a membership there so we go whenever we have a free day. My son usually begs to see the animals. So we pack a picnic lunch, visit the zoo, and then let him play at the park after we eat. It’s so much fun! Here are a few pictures from our fun day. (Sorry for the photo bomb!)

Halfway through week 12

So I am officiallly halfway through week 12 of Jillian Michaels Body Revolution. Last weekend I went to a wedding and ate way too much, so my weight has been up. I finally got it back down to where I was before the wedding so *hopefully* I will see a loss when I weigh in on Monday. Next week is my very last week with Body Revolution. I’m excited to take my before and after picture because I really have no idea how much of a change I will see. I know that I have changed, I just haven’t seen a picture comparison yet. Hopefully I did change a lot and that you can see that too. I’m ready to be done, but also I want to keep going! I wish Jillian had made a Body Revolution Part 2! 🙁 Oh well. I will move on to Insanity and then come back for another round of Body Revolution. I just want to mix things up for my body a bit. How is everyone else doing with this program? Are you seeing any great results?

Done with week 11 of Jillian Michaels Body Revolution

Tomorrow I do Cardio 3 and then I am done with week 11 of Body Revolution. Then I just have 2 weeks left. I’m so so so excited! I have seen some people skipping the 13th week of workouts and ending the program with week 12 but I feel like workouts 11 and 12 are really awesome and will bring me great results if I keep it up.

I think my goal to end Body Revolution is to get to 171. That’s about 4 more pounds judging from what I weighed this morning. I would love to hit 170 or even 169 but I would really have to push it for the next 2 weeks. We will see. I know I really need to drink more water. It is so hot here. It was almost 100 degrees today!

I weighed my lowest today and I so wish it was my official weigh day. Tomorrow is my friends wedding and I’m seriously going to try to not over eat.  Wish me luck!

Workout 12

Workout 12 was not as hard as I thougt it would be. But those wheel pushups are nuts. I just held myself in the wheel position because I could not push up.

I have officially done every workout in Body Revolution! It feels great. I think workout 12 is my favorite. Lots of great leg and ab moves. I just want to do it over and over because it feels like its going to bring results. Which workout is your favorite?

Workout 12

So yesterday was workout 12 and today was Cardio 3 (again). Workout 12 was not as bad as I thought it was going to be but wheel pushups were killer. Wheel pushups… how to describe them. It’s like you are bending over backwards and doing pushups at the same time. Yeah. Jillian Michaels just about killed me with that move. I couldn’t do the pushing up part so I just held myself in that wheel pose.

I’m kind of bummed out that my Body Revolution with Jillian is almost done. I am halfway through week 11 now. So just 2.5 more weeks and I will be done. I was going to restart the program and use heavier weights and do the more difficult modifications. But now I think I will do Insanity (um… TRY to do Insanity) to mix things up with my body a little bit. I heard that if you change up your routine it will shock your body and change it. So the plan is for me to try Insanity for the 60 days, then go BACK to Body Revolution for another round of 90 days! By my calculations, if I stay on track with both of these programs for their entirety, I should be able to meet my fitness goals. I would love to get down to 135. If I lose 2 pounds a week then I would meet that goal by the end of Insanity and Body Revolution Round 2. My husband just finished his first week of Insanity and lost 5 pounds.  Anyone out there tried Insanity?

I took my measurements today just because my legs feel so much smaller. I was shocked that I have lost 3 inches in my bust. And 3 inches around my belly button. I will post my official inches/weight lost on my last day of Body Revolution. I’m nervous and excited to take my after picture. I FEEL like I look so much different than before, but when the pictures are side by side, I hope that other people will be able to see the difference as well.

I’m looking forward to workout 11 again tomorrow!

Workout 11

Workout 11 was the toughest so far! But I ws very pleased and surprised that my body was actually capable of doing all the moves. I had to modify some slightly or couldn’t do them as fast as Jillian wanted, but I could do them! I was so proud of my body. I burned about 385 calories.

Today was weigh in day and I weighed 177! Yay! A 2 pound loss this week and down 18 since the start of Body Revolution. I went slightly over my calories tonight but I’m not concerned. I was hungry this evening and wanted another bowl of oatmeal, so I ate it. I’m using today as a treat day. Its nice to treat yourself every once in a while. I used to make my husband buy me a big pint of ben and jerrys ice cream. I’d say a bowl of oatmeal is much better than that. Today was super stressful and I’m sick and just feel awful. I’m impressed I didn’t go over my calories more than I did. Hope you are all doing well on your Body Revolution journeys!

Anyone gotten off track?

I know I haven’t updated in a while, and I wanted to do so. I got off track yet again. I feel awful about that but it happened. I think that it doesnt matter if you get off track, its just important that you get back ON track. And I am back.

I had lots of stuff going on in my life, which is no excuse but sometimes life gets in the way. Well, my little girl turned 1 two days ago and we are officially done breastfeeding. I’m both sad and relieved. I’m excited to really crack down on this weight loss journey.

So I kept getting stuck on week 9 and I restarted phase 3 like 5 times. About two weeks ago I restarted again and decided I wouldn’t blog again until I stuck with it and finished weeks 9 and 10 and I’m happy to tell you that tonight I finished week 10. Tomorrow I will begin week 11 and I am positive with only 3 weeks left that I will not get off track any more. I’m excited to finish up. I’m also excited to take my final weight and measurements and my before and after photos.

When I got off track the past month and a half, I gained back a lot of my weight. I was back up to 189. Ugh. So when I stopped Body Revolution, I gained weight. I was making poor food choices. Now I am happy to report that last Monday I weighed in at 179! Can you believe it? In the 170s! That’s still so high but it feels like such a relief to be out of the 180s. I remember when I went from 200 to 199… the feeling was amazing. It feels like that. I feel so awesome. Tomorrow is my weigh in day and I cant wait to see what I will weigh.

Just a reminder, when I started Jillian Michaels Body Revolution I weighed 195, so I have lost 16 pounds so far. 3 more weeks left and I feel confident I will have at least a 20 pound loss.

I had to buy new pants the other day and I fit in a pair of 14s! 14! When I started, I was in a size 18! This is crazy.

But what is craziest is that my daughter is 1 now, and the day that I had her (before I had her) I weighed 244. I feel so ashamed just writing that. But its true. 244. Now I’m 179. I can’t even begin to tell you how much better I feel about myself. I’m only 20 pounds away from the weight I was when I first met my husband. I can get there. I can do it.

My husband gave up on Body Revolution but he just bought Insanity and is on Day 4! He is doing great and I will be starting that when Body Revolution is over.

Sorry this is so long, I’m just excited about finishing up! I will write tomorrow to let you all know how workout 11 went.
